Title The Explosive Ordinance Disposal Changes Required For Enhanced Security of Civilians

Major organizational changes should be effected on how the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operations are carried out. The security of civilians is of most importance and this calls for integration between the EOD and the ARSOF (Army Special Operation Forces) for enhanced security of civilians from harmful attacks such as those from terrorists.  This paper therefore discuses how the organizational change of integration seem imperative in security enhancement.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Changes
The Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) was an imperative procedure typically during the World War I that ensured protection of the civilians from harmful effects of munitions. This procedure often required proper training of the ammunition technicians in order to neutralize the munitions without themselves being affected.

Army Special Operation Forces (ARSOF) is responsible in the modern day fight against terrorism but one limitation is that it lacks EOD support. This calls for significant changes in the EOD to allow for integration between the ARSOF and the EOD.  Considering the significance of ARSOF in the Global War on Terrorism, EOD should have formal support for the forces.

It is improper for the EOD to neglect ARSOF while it is has much presence among the conventional forces. The conventional forces enjoyed a privilege of the EOD support through established relations in the United States, the contingency operations and the Combat Training Centers.

The EOD plan to support only the conventional forces resulted from the focus by the Armys Cold War. According to However, the story has changed the U.S can not expect conquering predominately intensified and mechanized fights on flanking and linear battlefields.  There is a possibility that the future enemies will be keen in employing asymmetric mechanisms to overcome the U.S defense. However, ARSOF is vital to neutralize the threats from the enemies and support from the EOD is necessary to strength its operations.
The EOD efforts are essential in the protection of the civilians security which requires intensified synergy in research and operations.  Improvised explosive weapons have terrifically increased and so has the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear technology in weaponry. This calls for an integration of the EOD and the ARSOF to effect changes.
