Digital Manipulation in Photography
In the recent years, digital photography has changed the meaning of the images in relationship to both advertising and editorial photography by creating an environment that is tampered by artificial elements. Enhancements and photoshopping strip away an images original meaning and replace it with a newly crafted one through digital manipulation. This meaning goes beyond the photograph itself. Recently, there has been an outburst of ethics against digital manipulation. Commercial advertising is the top avenue for this issue. Images of products or people have been manipulated in order to attract customers and improve their business. This scenario is said to have stripped photography of it true meaning. The impact of digital manipulation in photography as a truthful meaning has brought about much negativity in the sense that each image becomes a suspect of superb digital manipulation. Truthfulness and faith in each photograph is lowered because of much hype and use of digital manipulation. In todays world, a lie is synonymous to a digitally manipulated image. The reality should be upheld.
